It’s the small things that count

After a successful launch night in May, our Housing Worker, Isabella, kicked off ‘Raise the Disco’s’ residency at The Canteen with the ‘Raise the Disco: Idle Hands takeover’.

The nights music was supplied by Bristol born record company Idle Hands, with the creator Chris Farrell on the decks. This saw a night of amazing house and disco and certainly made for a memorable August bank holiday.

With Isabella securing an event every two months, Raise the Disco which is Isabella’s brainchild is set to raise money for a new fund to help with people’s mental health recovery in small ways. Sylvia’s Fund, named after Isabella’s Nan, will grant small awards to Second Step clients to spend on small things to help with their recovery and wellbeing. This could be as simple as a meal out or some new paint brushes.

Please look out both on the second step newsletter and the RTD Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/RaisetheDisco/?modal=admin_todo_tour for more event news.

Next event Saturday 13th October.
