Peer Support

Learn about how your ‘lived experience’ can be used in positive ways to support others.  The course aims to help you develop your skills & knowledge of peer support roles and provides the foundation for applying for volunteer and paid work within peer support.

Assertive Communication

Looks at three different communication styles, one of which is assertiveness. This course helps us think about why we may become unassertive, thinks about strategies for becoming more assertive and is designed to help us make the changes we want. Suitable for sufferers of depression.

Coping with Anxiety

Within these sessions we will explore common causes of anxiety and discover some simple techniques to help relieve the symptoms of anxiety.  Learners will be able to share their ideas and identify ways in which to manage their anxiety in a safe and supportive environment.

We will identify some useful tools and actions for you to take away and try out.

Managing Depression

A helpful session that looks at the symptoms of depression, the vicious cycle and the Achieve Connect Enjoy (ACE) model. Suitable for everyone who has suffered with depression, is depressed, or wants to learn strategies for relieving depression.

Wellness Planning

Based on Mary Ellen Copelands principles of WRAP (Wellness recovery action planning) we have designed our own wellness planning handbook to help you monitor your wellbeing and mental health.  Over the three sessions you will explore and develop our own daily maintenance plan, identify wellness tools, recognise when we are struggling and develop strategies to manage our difficulties.
