Talking mental health at work on the Phil Hammond show

On Saturday 9 October our Wellbeing College Coordinator Matt Stalker and our Chief Executive, Aileen Edwards were featured guests on BBC Radio Bristol’s Phil Hammond Show, with stand in presenter Laura Rawlings. Matt and Aileen were invited to talk about mental health at work, the theme for this year’s World Mental Health day.

Matt talked about his experience of mental health and how it affected his work. He also shared his tips for encouraging good mental health at work including taking time away from your desk to “get some fresh air or talk to colleagues” and “taking some time out for creativity or listening to music”. Providing a supportive environment for your colleagues was also something to be encouraged – recognising and celebrating success and being able to give and receive praise.
