Trauma-Informed Organisations training
Who this training is for:
Training duration:
Becoming a trauma informed organisation goes beyond how we relate to our clients, it involves reassessing every aspect of how an organisation works. This course encourages us to do this through the lens of the six trauma-informed principles:
- Safety
- Trustworthiness and transparency
- Choice and clarity
- Collaboration
- Empowerment
- Inclusivity
How do these principles inform how we manage and support staff, how we create environments of safety and inclusivity, how we use language and communicate in the workplace? This course is highly interactive and asks to consider how to our own services can become truly trauma-informed.
Learning objectives
- Understand the constituent parts of a trauma informed organisation.
- Consider the impact of work in social care settings and how we can best support and manage our staff.
- Understand how to make work cultures inclusive, focusing particularly on cultural sensitivity and the language we use.
- Consider how choice and collaboration impacts both how we manage staff and engage our clients.
- Examine how we foster a sense of safety both physically and psychologically
- Form a service-based action plan to make our services trauma-informed.
Jo is an incredible trainer, who combines her in-depth psychological knowledge with an easily accessible training style. I liked that the training also gave us the opportunity to think about and share practical ways to apply this knowledge in our services – I learned so much from the other participants."
