The Wellbeing Service

Do you ever feel low, worried, angry, anxious?

  • "I seem to get on top of things for a while and then things get me back down again"
  • "Sometimes I get really wound up and I don't feel like I can control it"
  • "I find it hard to stand up for myself".

 Do you ever have thoughts like this?

Do you feel you want to make a change but don't know where to start?

Are you homeless, living in a hostel or living in insecure accommodation?

Maybe the Wellbeing Service could help you?
The Wellbeing Service uses ideas from psychology to help you make positive changes to your life and help you to deal with things that cause you problems.

These activities may help you to:

  • understand why you feel as you do;
  • look at how these feelings are affecting your behaviour and thoughts;
  • find out what you would like to change;
  • discover new ways of coping now and in the future.

Who we are
The service has two Engagement Workers to help you think about what you need, they can refer you to other relevant agencies and can support you to access theWellbeing Service.  The Engagement Workers will also be helping to run some of the courses at the Wellbeing Service.  We have two psychologists who will be delivering courses and who you can meet with one-to-one.

What will the Service provide?
Drop in
The Wellbeing Service is open Monday to Friday for drop-in during the morning session, 9.30am - 12.30pm

Courses
The service will be running courses to help you make changes or find ways to cope such as:

  • managing your emotions;
  • stress and mood management;
  • managing anxiety
  • anger management.

 Other courses will be developed to meet the needs of service users.

1:1 Sessions
You will be able to book an appointment to see a psychologist during weekday afternoons.  The first meeting will give us a chance to find out what you want to get out of the meetings and together you can use the time to talk and think about situations that are causing you distress, and ways that you might be able to make a difference to this.

Location
The Compass Centre, 1 Jamaica Street BS2 8JP.

Courses and 1:1 sessions will take place at the Wellbeing Service but can also be held in hostels or other projects.
