Molitor House
What is Molitor House?
Located in Cotham, Bristol, Molitor House is a Supported Housing Scheme for homeless single people with mental health needs.
All tenants will have recently been discharged from psychiatric hospital. We offer temporary accommodation for up to six months while longer-term housing is found.
Molitor House offers one-to-one support for its residents to help them prepare for independent living. It is fully furnished and can accommodate 9 tenants with their own bedroom. Other rooms are communal and are shared by all residents.
What support will I receive?
The aim of Molitor House is to act as a stepping stone between hospital and independent living. The first priority is to look at your housing needs, as Molitor House only provides accommodation for 6 months. We will assist you with searching for and securing alternative accommodation, including help with filling in forms and contacting the Council or other housing organisation. We will also help you with other important skills such as budgeting, dealing with bills, cooking and cleaning and establishing or re-establishing a place within the community.
Everyone's support plans are individually tailored to their particular needs and interests and are created together with your support worker. It sets out clear goals such as life skills, training, employment and other areas you feel will assist your recovery and independence.
Do I need a referral?
We accept self-referrals i.e. applicants can contact Molitor House or Second Step directly, or we take referrals from hospitals such as Southmead or other professionals, such as Community Psychiatric Nurses and Social Workers.
